As you may know New York Fashion Week is right around the corner starting September 7th. But before we dive into next years Spring/Summer looks, let's recap some of our favorite runway looks and trends for next fall.
When she was in high school Rihanna got send home on a regular basis for not sticking to the school's dresscode. Our favorite fashion rebel used this as an inspiration for this season's ready to wear collection. Bringing a new edge to the "preppy schoolgirl".
Raf Simons makes us all feel warm and cozy next fall with his collection based on little children dressing up in their parents clothes. By combining comfy knits and oversized satin-sheen topcoats we all feel like it's take your child to work day.
Coming from the urban scene Kanye obviously isn't a stranger when it comes to baggy clothes and picked up on the oversized trend that is everywhere this season. But Yeezy always comes with a twist. For this fall they introduced denim to the collection. We see a lot of full denim looks and high rise loose fitted jeans tucked into the classic Yeezy thigh high boots.
Alexander McQueen takes us back to medieval times with a collection inspired by Cornwall, the most southern county of the UK. In Cornwall you find a lot of medieval churches, ancient stone circles and even traces of witchcraft in certain subcultures. Which are represented mostly in the beading of the garments. In the beading you find medieval tapestry patterns and witchy symbols of stars and suns.
