Kobe has always been quite popular among his fans. As with many players, fans stand waiting at the sidelines of the court, outside the gym, or they might even follow him around the city, all to try and get an autograph or maybe even a T-shirt with his name on it.
But, as always, some fans are more fanatic (you could even say crazier) than others. On Thursday, August 10th, a fan bought a pair of Kobe Bryant’s shoes for more than 30.000 dollars on Ebay. Yes, 30.000 dollars! That would buy you about 25.000 cartons of milk, or 20.000 kilos of apples, a really nice car and it could be a giant start on buying your own house. Last but not least, it is only 1569 dollars less than the salary of the lowest paid player in the NBA, Pierre Jackson of the Dallas Mavericks.
The auctioned shoes were Air Jordan 3 player exclusive shoes that Kobe wore in the 2002-2003 season after he switched from Adidas to Nike’s. Though this is a lot of money, this is not the first time some Kobe memorabilia is auctioned for a high price. Just after he announced his retirement from the NBA, two collectible cards with his face on it sold for 100.000 dollars.
