Movie Guide – February
It’s the start of a new month, which means another month of movie releases, including some that have been on our to-watch list for a very long time. Yes, I’m talking about the latest sequel in the Marvel cinematic universe. Here we selected four movies that you should definitely check out this month.
12 Strong
12 Strong takes place during the insecure days following the events on 9/11. The story centers around the first American Special Forces team that was sent on a mission to Afghanistan, led by captain Mitch Nelson, portrayed by Chris Hemsworth. Their mission is to convince the general of the northern alliance to join forces to take down their mutual enemy: the Taliban and all Al Qaeda allies.
Release date: February 1st
Winchester Mystery House
Winchester Mystery House centers around Sarah Winchester (Helen Mirren), a widow of an American weapons magnate, who is convinced she is being haunted by the ghost of the people who were killed by her late husband’s weapons. After the sudden death of her husband and child, Sarah focuses on the constant construction of the giant Winchester Mystery House that’s been designed to wear off evil spirits. When skeptic psychiatrist Eric Price comes to the mansion to evaluate Sarah’s mental health, he soon comes to the conclusion that Sarah’s obsession with the supernatural isn’t as crazy as it seems.
Release date: February 8th.
Black Panther
Marvel’s Black Panther follows the story of T’Challa, who returns to his kingdom Wakanda after the death of his father, the king, to take his rightful place on the throne. His courage as king and Black Panther is challenged by an old enemy, who isn’t just a danger to Wakanda but to the entire world. In order to defeat this enemy, the young king has to unite his allies and use his powers to protect his people.
Release date: February 14th.
Game Night
The bar for Max and Annie’s (Jason Bateman, Rachel McAdams) weekly game night for couples is set to the next level when Max’s charismatic brother Brooks organizes a murder-mystery party, including fake villains and FBI agents. So when Brooks gets kidnapped during the game, you’d think that’s part of it right? When the six extremely competitive players are determined to close the case, they come to the realization that “the game” nor Brooks are what they seem. In the span of one chaotic night, the friends find themselves in more and more trouble and crazy scenarios. This will either be the most fun game ever or game over…
