Players Who Are Struggling

It doesn’t matter how prepared you are for the new season, sometimes thing just don’t go your way at the start of a new year. Most of the times, this changes a couple of weeks into the season, and hopefully, that will be the case for these players.

Klay Thompson

Before Monday’s game, Thompson hasn’t been himself this season so far. Of course, he had an amazing game on monday, and set the new record for threes in a game, but that was the first game this season where his shooting went smoothly. Where he scored 44% of his threes last season, his average in the first few games of this season lies below 15%. The same can be said about his field goal percentage, as that has fallen below 40% for the first time in his career. Luckily for the Warriors, Thompson is an excellent defender, and the Durant/Curry dup is doing just fine so far, so the Warriors don’t have anything to worry about yet.

Markelle Fultz

Fultz has definitely showed progress over the summer, but he still hasn’t showed the potential he should as last year’s no.1 pick. How long will the 76ers continue to trust the process, and trust that Fultz will eb able to reach his old level again? So far, Brett Brown, the 76ers coach, has put Fultz in the starting line-up, but made him come off the bench in the second half. Is this a sign that J.J. Redick will move back into the starting line-up if thing don’t improve soon?

Ricky Rubio

Rubio isn’t known for his good field goal percentage, or great shots, but this year is definitely a low for him. He has only been hitting 30% of his shots, and he even got a few games where he got below 20%. Besides that, Rubio is still dishing out enough assists per game to help his teammates.

Karl-Anthony Towns

Towns is one of the most promising big men in the league, but he’s got a horrible start to the season so far. He subbed himself out of the game after shooting three airballs in a row, and just seems to have lost a lot of confidence in his game. Though he’s scored more than 14 points per game this season, Towns just is quite inefficient this season.
