Recipe of the Week – Watermelon Mint Smoothie

Staying hydrated is one of the most important things when it comes to working out, especially during these hot summer days. So instead of being nutrient stacked, this smoothie provides hydration and cooling. Watermelons mostly consist of water, about 92%. Other than that they’re full of antioxidants, which allows your body to function optimally plus they’re fat-free!

Ingredients:

– 450 Grams of watermelon cubes. (you can meal prep and freeze a fresh watermelon overnight or use ready-made frozen watermelon cubes from the store.)
– 120 Milliliters of coconut water. (read more on the health benefits of coconut water in one of our previous articles.
– Half a tablespoon of fresh mint.

Instructions:

1. Add all of the ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth.

Tip: When freezing your watermelon, let the cubes freeze on a tray and then put them in a bag, this way you won’t end up with a big frozen watermelon blob.
