The story behind Han Kjøbenhavn

Around a decade ago, Han Kjøbenhavn started as an eyewear brand. Now it has grown out to be one of the biggest names within menswear and has released a womenswear collection as well. The brand is known for their esoteric approach to urban streetwear. They present their clothing on the runway with an avant-garde approach and make the most iconic ad campaigns.

You might have seen the iconic face representing the brand Han Kjøbenhavn before. Han is known for using elderly models for there ad campaigns and lookbook. They decided to work with elderly models because of the life they have lived, to work with people who have stories to share. Stories who can be seen in their facial appearance. Also their ad campaigns are based on an episode which comes from one of the models life, build from that into a new creative direction.

The brand is all about stories, human beings and feelings. Their mindset is that if these stories are created in and around the collection, the collection will connect with the audience on a different level. The collections of Han speak of classic cuts with an architectural approach to tailoring and silhouettes.

Han Kjøbenhavn got a strong identity, which they nail and has a lot of diversity in the projects they are working on – from films, to furniture and so on.

After the succes of the first collaboration with PUMA, SS17, they united for the second time, SS18. The inspiration behind this collab is Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen, founder of Han Kjøbenhavn, his upbringing in the suburbs.
