Top 4 fashion trends – pre-fall 2018

As Summer is slowly coming to its end, new trends are emerging onto the streetwear scene. Pre-fall is all about gradually transitioning into the new season. It isn’t always seen as the boldest season, but it does give us a good taste of what is yet to come, and this Autumn/Winter seems to be a very colorful and promising one.

1. Belted

This Fall’s number one must-have accessory is none other than the belt. The belted trend was coined by various high-end brands such as Gucci and Off-white and is a great way to elevate any type of outfit. The accentuated waste is a flattering look on many different body types and a modern-day nod to the Dior “New look”, especially when adding a belt to a tailored blazer, creating more volume in its silhouette. You can also add the belted look to a cozy oversized jumper or even a dress.

2. Glitter

Who says you have to wait till the holidays to pull out your favorite sparkling gown. The glitter trend is perfect for those who aren’t afraid to make a statement and love a touch of glam. This is also one of the most versatile trends on the list and can easily be incorporated into your existing wardrobe, whether it’s a sparkling dress, skirts, a pair of trousers or a small accessory such as a scarf or bag. The key to this trend is layering and mixing different textures to create an interesting silhouette. For example, layering a full sparkling skirt with a structured oversized knit.

3. Safari Stripe

This trend is quite a surprising one, as safari-inspired prints are usually associated with resort wear. For this pre-fall season, however, animal prints are a streetwear staple. Adding a bold print into your wardrobe can be a tricky one, but with an animal print, you can be as subtle or as bold as you want, whether is a simple top, a small accessory or a statement co-ord or big coat.

4. The New Trench

Obviously, trench coats are a Fall classic that can’t be missing from your wardrobe. Even though you can’t go wrong with a classic trench, designers always try to reinvent it, whether it’s in the fabric, structure, silhouette or colorway.  Adding the belted trend, for example, is a great way to lift up your trench from last season.
