Top 5 accessory trends for the upcoming Winter

As the Winter is approaching, trends are rising up and this season is promising to be very bold. The clouds might be grey, but that doesn’t mean our outfits have to be. This is a time where we can really play around with different trends and mix them to fit into our individual style. Accessories are especially easy to incorporate into your wardrobe and can really elevate your look. These are five trends that will definitely make you stand out from the crowd this season.

Crazy Headwear

This Winter, it is going to be all about the hat. Designers seem to have taken a page from Pharrell’s handbook, when it comes to designing crazy oversized hats, from Marc Jacob’s knitted top hat to Margiela’s cut-out, oversized urchin caps and Gucci’s logo headbands. There are plenty of styles to choose from.

Anything Fuzzy

This trend will definitely keep you warm on those cold Winter days. Faux fur and other fluffy textiles have taken over the fashion industry; from hats to shoes, coats, bags, belts, sweaters, gloves, you name it. One brand that took the trend to the extreme was Prada with their full body fuzzy looks for the “Ready to Wear Fall/Winter 2017 collection”.

Statement Earrings

Statement earrings have been around for a couple of seasons now, but don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime to soon. Designers have completely embraced this trend, by creating art like shapes into their jewelry. This season, the earrings have become even bigger and they are often asymmetrical or even two completely different designs that do balance each other out. This is a really easy trend to play around with, and mix and match to add a nice touch to your look.

Spirit / Tribal necklaces

Just when you think the bohemian trends have passed, it makes a comeback in the shape of necklaces. Subtle tribal touches have been showing up in the collections of multiple designers like Loewe, Prada and Lanvin. You can really add your personal touch to this trend with a DIY feather or shell necklace.

Mini Bags

This Winter, everything is oversized, except for the bags. Pretty much all designer brands had at least one mini bag in their collection this season. A mini bag isn’t the most practical, since most only have room for your phone or wallet, but it’s a nice way to add a pop of color or a different texture to your outfit.
