Wilt Chamberlain once led the NBA with an average of 45.8 minutes per game. Nowadays, no one comes close to playing these kind of minutes on a daily basis. Here are the five players who on average play the most minutes per game this season.

4. Khris Middleton and Paul George – 36.6

Middleton has played two games more than George (78/76), but they both have played the majority of the games this season. On top of that, they are both averaging more than 20 points and 5 rebounds per game. Middleton’s Bucks are currently in the eight place in the Eastern Conference, while OKC is in the sixth place of the Western Conference.

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo – 37.0

Antetokounmpo is the second player on the list of the Milwaukee Bucks, and this will be his third season averaging over 35 minutes per game. Besides that, he is also averaging 27.2 points, 10 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. Though he might be overshadowed by LeBron James and James Harden, he is still definitely making a case for being this years’ MVP.

2. Jimmy Butler – 37.1

Butler had only played 56 games this season, before injuring his knee in the first game after the All-Star game. In the 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 season, Butler had an even higher average amount of minutes per game, at 38.7 minutes.

1. LeBron James –  37.2

LeBron leads this list with most minutes per game this season. Last week, he has also become the only player in NBA history who has scored 30.000 points, 8,000 assists and 8.000 rebounds. His Cavaliers are currently on the third spot in the Eastern Conference. Though 37.2 minutes per game in 78 games is quite good for a 33-year-old player, it isn’t the highest amount of minutes he averaged through the years. Last season, he averaged 37.8 minutes, but in his first five seasons, he averaged 40 minutes or more.
